It's great, I want to fucking live here.

Nice, French Riviera, Pisa, Florence, Rome

AMAZING, especially along the French Riviera. Currently in Rome and leaving on Wednesday to London.  The first two weeks my mind was still in Vancouver, but since last week I've fallen in love with Europe.

just.

too.

much.

Every night before I fall asleep I think about my daily routine in Vancouver and it makes me that much more sad to leave this continent.

Marseille, France

Salut!

Currently in the not so beautiful town of Marseille, where the hostel is great and the city life is unsafe. Of all the places we have visited, this town takes the cake for being the most ghetto. This place may be no more dangerous than any other place but the rude people, men and women alike (though more encounters with men), make me cling onto my belongings for dear life. Even locals from other towns along the French Riviera have warned us about this town, such as this Mel Gibson character I met on the train.

No Amie, it's not Mel Gibson, only somebody who closely resembles him and so aptly named.

The girls took a little trip to some "chateau" castle thing, where the movie "Count of Monte Cristo" (sp?) was based.  A ferry ride is needed to get there, and so I've decided to skip the risk of falling nauseous to the beautiful sparkling waters of Marseille and just staying around the hostel and doing everyone's white laundry. What would they do without me... (let the comments from them pour)

We'll be making baguette dinners tonight to have on our train ride to Nice, and following, Venice and Florence days later. I am so sick of these French keyboards, but I do need to say one more important thing:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY WEI. Everytime I'm at the beach I think of you and the scrapes you endured because of me, apparently.

And by the way, being in the Barcelona waters without a top and bottom could not have felt more refreshing. Let there be more free'ing days in Nice and Monaco.

Barcelona

Okay so ever since Portugal, our last stop before Paris, things have been extreme for us. There have been really awesome moments and moments that have ripped us new assholes. I guess you could so it´s a true backpacker´s experience but... the last 12 hours have probably been our most flustered and disorganized.

Let´s just say, I have a knack for missing my flights in Europe and paying a ludicrous amount to gain back lost time.

Today was a good day for my eyes. There were so many goodlooking people in the hostel we were trying to check into. There are not only goodlooking people, but quite charming at first glance. Dads for some reason really warm my heart, like this one dad that was playing with his baby at the intersection even though everyone was looking. That is a definite turn on, no matter what they look like; not caring what others think and just doing what you love. There was also another very goodlooking dad that we saw at Disneyland Paris, who took a picture for us at the entrance. We in turn did the same for him and his family, and I made sure Amy took a good picture for him to at least leave a lasting impression. Maybe? I forgot to sneak a picture of him.

Oh, did I mention we went to Disneyland PARIS? EEEEEEEEE! It was exciting. I felt like a little kid again, and I´ve never walked so fast throughout the entire trip than I did yesterday.

Time´s up again at some East Indian video rental/internet cafe in some sketchy alley in Barcelona.

La Belle Ville Paris

Bonjour mes amis!

In Paris at this moment and I must say, all the expectations I had about this romantisized city have been met and surpassed in only 3 days. We were atop the Eiffel Tower yesterday near midnight and illuminated, the city is so beautiful and romantic.  It got Amie and I daydreaming about our (possible) future engagements and marriage and all that mushy gushy stuff... hint hint.  Anyways, it was lovely but our late tired trek back home was not so much.

Our backpacks are stuffed and soon we are going to have to start carrying additional belongings because we went a bit crazy yesterday, but it's totally worth it. At least that's what I need to keep telling myself.  Too bad backpacking doesn't deter us from keeping our bags light. But hey, how often am I in the beautiful city that is Paris?
